Turn your oven on to bake at 425 F (Fahrenheit)
In a bowl add 2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour (but you can use all purpose flour again)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
MIX (I use the handle of a wooden spoon)
1 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups butter milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
MIX into a shaggy dough
Turn out on a lightly floured wooden board or your counter
Knead into a ball (it won’t be smooth)
Place it on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
Lightly brush some butter milk on top and sides
Sprinkle nuts on top, or not (I used sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds)
Now score an “X” in the top (1/2 way down about) to make sure it cooks in the centre
When your oven’s ready at 425 F, bake it for 20-25 minutes
Don’t open the oven!
Now, turn down your oven to 350 F, and bake for another 20-25 minutes
Remove, let cool, and enjoy with soup, stew, butter or jam!
